hacer conjeturas tentativas de la presencia de contaminación transgénica en sus
milpas.

social el cual se dedica a la protección de la herencia genética del maíz Maya.
En el estado de Chiapas, la gente resiste la extensión
del maíz transgénico a través de sembrar solamente el maíz que origina de principios
conocidos, educando a sus comunidades acerca del peligro de cosechas transgénicas,
y haciendo pruebas para la contaminación en sus milpas.

 Educando sobre la contaminación transgénica en Chiapas, México
Un gran programa educativo esta al centro de la
resistencia Zapatista contra las cosechas transgénicas. Este programa ha retrasado a la extensión de
la semilla transgénica a través de animar a agricultores guardar bien las semillas
con herencia maya.
Además, las comunidades autónomas Maya han establecido
santuarios en solidaridad para proteger este maíz único.
Sin embargo, se nota ahora evidencia de que cosechas transgénicas
han extendido y que el gobierno federal de México están permitiendo la siembra "experimental"
de cosechas transgénicas.
En 2010, los promotores Zapatistas de la agroecología empezaran
de nuevo usar las pruebas para medir e identificar la presencia de contaminación
transgénica. Estas simples pruebas
proveen una estimación de contaminación mientras contribuyendo a la educación
en las comunidades rurales Maya de Chiapas.

Come to Chiapas and work with Zapatista promoters of ecological agriculture who specialize in organic farming including natural plague control in beans, corn, coffee, and other crops. To take our knowledge beyond that of intellectual understanding, we will assist in projects relating to the preservation of the natural environment and the people who live closest to it. This will include field testing for GMO contaminations.
